In a suspended time of illegible origin, a figure emerges, not from desire, nor from language, but from residue, from a forgotten gesture of creation, of manufacture.

The image takes on the artist’s likeness, only to displace it: not a reflection, but an aberrant embodiment: uncanny, unnamed, shaped by the inertia of echoes from a system that persists without purpose.

The work invokes a space where the sense of identity corrodes and dissolves. In that environment, devoid of subject and history, the question of being persists.

Eidolon activates a reflection on the limits of the self, on embodiment, and on the possibility of a subjectivity that does not arise from the biological body, but from machinic repetition and accident. Like doppelgängers or the mythological εἴδωλα, insubstantial double apparitions, this figure confronts us with a scrying mirror in which to probe what we understand as human.

Eidolon continues the search initiated by Mi-sterio (2022). In Mi-sterio, iterative digital cloning becomes a journey of depersonalization that triggers a quest for identity, meaning, and transcendence. Eidolon revisits and deepens these themes, addressing creation, representation, identity, and consciousness in a time of accelerated technological change that challenges and redefines our human experience.
